going into this with rather low expectations i have to say i’m pleasantly surprised by tarrant county’s democratic challengers! not to say that there aren’t seats that still need a dem contender (ahem - david cook (HD96) and stephanie click / david lowe (HD91) - among others), but all in all i’m grateful for the number of texas democrats willing to step up and stand against the far-right extremists who are so loosely tethered to reality.

I was on a recruitment call last night with several organizations, we might actually have candidates for those seats. They have until Monday to file, but I'm expecting dozens to file over the weekend. Once the deadline is passed, I'll post an updated list.

i just got Tarratnt GOP weekly news bulletion: brief , consice, to the point of the stricitly GOP flavored news and talking points. For instance this: "Texas Joins Daily Wire and The Federalist to Sue State Department Over Censorship"

TCDP has nothing to say about Nazi's or Paxton and abortion or anything else.

We are doomed.

as Mika B is raising hell on Morning Joe first story of the morning show...and she is lambsting Paxton and Trump about Kate Cox, I can found not a peep from TCDP. the Facebook link is disconnected, Twitters last post was Oct 7. No Bulletion Brief in 2 weeks and only one issued in Gayden's term. Not digital digit could i find with any Tarrant or Texas's D's voice attached. 0

not quite on point but here is why u need an engaged party...local MSM often doesn't work or takes sides or excludes one side......u, party chair, need to be in their face demanding equal time

case in point..FWST......the AGC FWST, took sides on this story .....the wrong side......against the Founder's kin no less. Hedge fund ass wipes with no interest in FTW for sure.

https://www.texasmonthly.com/news-politics/the-bishop-who-picked-a-fight-with-the-wrong-nuns/

Anne Bass and AGC's grandaugher. Sheliea Johnson were the protaganists ........FWR didn't cover it either...TM found it fascinating

so if u imagine they are going to cover Hunt's race for Kay's seat, ur nuts....maybe the Honorable Crystal Gayden could get her ass down to 7th Street and poke Steve Coffman in the chest a couple of times.....

Very helpful list. Will you do an update after Monday?

I am preparing a post for my newsletter (Life Its Ownself) on how many of the GOP primary contenders are challenging incumbent House members who either 1) voted to impeach Paxton, 2) voted against vouchers, or 3) both.

Yes, I will definitely update after Monday. I was on a recruitment call last night with several organizations, there are dozens of more Democrats who intend to file and run, but just haven't done it yet. I expect a flurry of filings over the weekend.

TCU grad and guest on CNN this AM , Adrienne Elrod, who is a semi regular commentator and some kind of Dem consultant says her TCU gal pals and the like are still energized by abortion. I kinda thought 2022 showed Texas hadn't any passion on that.

i am reminded that the lunatic TC Judge got on the front page in FWST for some weirdo racist homophoic idea last summer..

TCDP couldn't bother to respond......so everything Tarrant R's do goes unchallenged, any where by any Dem.

here is how it works. Robnett gets front page in FWR....Symons has 2 FB friends. .FWR is funded by money........doesn't mean they won't write a story but they won't seek one out

see above comments on how FWST , hedge funders who go with power over local interests

that is what the party should do...get ink
