In this instance FTW and Tarrant County are at the epicenter of racism and voter suppression:

If this ain't intimidation of black voters show me what is!

This suggestion by me to County Chair Crystal Gayden , a black women and attorney, and the entire EC fell on deaf ears.

To wit:

"I dunno gang, organize a protest...

Let the world know you care

Which is not apparent BTW"

Dear Mr. Abbott....you can usually depend on student apathy to ameliorate the large numbers of votes possible.......u just nudged that number up.

At the same time Abbott is putting on his jack boots, Trump sleazeoids publish a plan to eviscerate the Fed and put Trump on the Board. OMFG ..Trump's finger on the interest rate trigger.

To what extent Abbott participates in the background schemes to turn America into Hungary or worse is a subject of concern. He may be just a coycat. In his seemingly 50 year reign i don't recall him proposing anything innovative. He must want to be Gov for some reason! Maybe he only wants to be King of Texas ...........i suspect he has bigger designs.

from TT "Tarrant County DA wants Crystal Mason’s illegal voting conviction reinstated"

however on the red side of the ledger:

"After no contest plea, a Texas R- representative’s charges for impersonating a public servant are dismissed"

i seem to recall voter fraud cases in Fla and other states invovling white R's saw only misdemeanor charges.

On must conclude our DA is a racist.

I’m disappointed y your reporting here. You used the word genocide which you should probably look up the definition for. Genocide is an intentional act to erase a group of people. Israel has no wish to eliminate Palestinians. They simply want to defeat the terrorist group Hamas. It is tragic that Hamas is using its people as shields. Where are the Arab nations? Why are they not getting involved to help fellow Muslims? Israel was attacked. It was an act of war. Should we just forget our hostages who are undergoing abuse, both sexual and physical?

From granddaughter of a Holocaust survivor which was a genocide.

Thank you for sharing your perspective, and I appreciate the sensitivity of this topic, especially given your family's history. My use of the term "genocide" in the article was based on statements from credible sources, including a United Nations rights expert who cited 'reasonable grounds' to believe that such acts may be occurring in Gaza. This terminology was not used lightly.

The focus of my article was to highlight the tragic consequences of warfare on civilians and the controversial use of power in various forms. The situation involves a spectrum of narratives and that the use of force has devastating effects on all involved. Your point about the role of other nations and the broader geopolitical dynamics is well-taken and indeed deserves deeper exploration.

It's important for such discussions to occur in an informed and respectful environment, and I am committed to fostering that. Thank you again for engaging and for your passionate input.

I despise that genocides are compared against each other for validity. The definition feels gatekept in the public, but the ICJ ruling provides more than enough validity. Would "massacre" be a more appropriate term for some? Would that then disqualify school shootings from using the term massacre? It shouldn't feel like there's a trademark around the term.
