The Battle for TX15: Why Michelle Vallejo Represents Change
With a comprehensive platform and national support, Michelle Vallejo has her eyes on a big win in November.
In 2022, only 27% of Texas’ Congressional District 15 (TX15) voters reached the polls. Because of that poor showing, Greg Abbott’s hand-picked candidate, Monica De La Cruz, won the 2022 race against Democrat Michelle Vallejo.
Here is Greg Abbott bragging about Monica De La Cruz’s win:
It’s funny because it’s almost like that crowd is unfamiliar with Conservative’s long history of racism in South Texas, which stretches back through the 1800s. Regardless, Monica De La Cruz did not “fire Nancy Pelosi” as Abbott promised his supporters she would. In fact, De La Cruz hasn’t done much of anything for the people of South Texas during her short stint.
De La Cruz’s “accomplishments” in Congress:
Because of De La Cruz’s extreme stances, 1.7 million Texans will lose access to affordable internet.
De La Cruz voted in favor of the “Special Committee” that has spent the last year holding multiple hearings over Hunter Biden’s penis.
She voted to end federal worker’s ability to work from home during Covid outbreaks at their office.
Although De La Cruz is staunchly against women’s rights, she’s been quietly deleting her anti-abortion stances from her website.
She sided with white supremacists to remove Representative Ilhan Omar from her committee assignments.
De La Cruz also voted to end the asylum-seeking process in America.
She’s been a frequent advocate on Fox News for building a useless wall on the border.
She voted along with Republicans to “save stoves” from an imaginary stove monster.
De La Cruz voted for a committee to be formed to impeach Joe Biden based on fake news from Fox.
She voted against turning abandoned schools into shelters for unhoused immigrants.
Monica De La Cruz received PPP loans while calling it socialism on Facebook.
She voted to censure Representative Rashida Tlaib, a Palestinian-American, for calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.
Since being elected, Monica De La Cruz has painted herself as a flunky of Donald Trump and prioritized profits and misinformation over truth. But South Texas won’t have to endure her much longer.
Michelle Vallejo can and will take back this seat in November.
Even if South Texas had a 50% voter turnout in November (unfortunately, this is the average for them), Monica De La Cruz will not win re-election.
Texas’ Congressional District 15 is a majority Hispanic district:
Despite the mountains of cash and Republican talking points, South Texas has not moved right as far as they would want you to believe. The only way that Republicans like Monica De La Cruz and Mayra Flores have won in Texas has been by capitalizing on the low voter turnout. (In Mayra Flores’ “winning” special election, the turnout was only 7%.)
There are some important factors to consider about this district.
Poverty in TX15 is more than double the national average.
Moreover, almost 27% of this district is uninsured.
With soaring levels of poverty and high rates of uninsured, Monica De La Cruz’s message to her constituents is, “Pull yourself up by your bootstraps, socialist.”
Michelle Vallejo will fight to bring real change to South Texas.
Vallejo’s website states that expanding access to healthcare in South Texas is her number one priority when elected. She is also concerned about bringing good jobs and a thriving economy to South Texas.
TX15 will never thrive as long as their chosen representation is chasing after stove monsters and voting on bills about the President’s son’s penis.
Texas needs adults in the room. We need people who are working for us and not shilling for billionaires and white supremacists. Texas needs congresspeople who are fighting for the people in their districts. Texas needs Michelle Vallejo.
The most important statement from Vallejo’s ad: “Monica De La Cruz makes a lot of promises to us, but in Congress, her record tells a different story.”

With Michelle Vallejo at the helm, Congressional District 15 in Texas could witness a transformation toward policies that prioritize the community's needs and strive for social justice.
Here's why Vallejo’s platform resonates strongly with the needs of this district:
Vallejo’s top priority is expanding access to healthcare, a critical issue given the district’s high uninsured rate. Her focus on affordable, high-quality healthcare aims to address this gap, ensuring that more residents can obtain the medical services they need without financial hardship.
In a district where poverty rates are double the national average, Vallejo’s commitment to creating good-paying jobs is crucial. Her plan includes revitalizing the local economy through support for small businesses and sustainable job opportunities, which could significantly impact residents' quality of life.
In an era where reproductive rights are increasingly under threat, Vallejo’s stance is clear. She is committed to protecting these rights, ensuring that women in TX15 have autonomy over their health decisions.
Vallejo also emphasizes the importance of affordable education and robust support for veterans, reflecting a comprehensive approach to governance that addresses various facets of life in TX15. Her plans to make education more accessible and to support those who have served the country show a dedication to long-term investments in people’s futures.
Given the district's demographics, with a significant portion of the population being Hispanic, Vallejo’s progressive stance on immigration could foster a more inclusive community environment. Her approach aims to protect the rights of immigrants and ensure they are integrated into the social and economic fabric of the district.
Vallejo's platform also includes efforts to make the wealthy pay their fair share, end gun violence, expand voting rights, and promote LGBTQ equality and justice. These points highlight her commitment to addressing systemic inequalities and ensuring that all community members can enjoy safety, fairness, and respect.

Last month, US Senate Candidate Colin Allred was seen down in TX15, blockwalking with Michelle Vallejo.
Plus, Vallejo has been racking in some heavy-duty endorsements. That means there’s a lot of people out there who really believe in her message and what she stands for. Some of those endorsements include:

Texas AFL-CIO
Texas AFT
Planned Parenthood
Nency Pelosi
Beto O’Rourke

And many more. You can check out her full list of endorsements here.
Michelle Vallejo is a beacon of hope for a community deeply in need of meaningful representation.
As November approaches, the choice for the voters of TX15 is clear. Do they continue on the current path, or do they choose a leader who not only understands their struggles but who will also fight tirelessly to address them? Michelle Vallejo represents a new chapter for South Texas — one of prosperity, equality, and dignity for all.
Every vote will count in this critical election. It's not just about defeating a candidate who has consistently underperformed and misaligned with the district's values but about electing a representative who genuinely embodies the spirit and needs of South Texas. This November, let the voices of TX15 be heard loud and clear: it's time for real change, it's time for Michelle Vallejo.
