It is probably the right time to have a more united caucus because the chances of a Trump backlash midterm are pretty high. Especially if tariffs and deportations stress the Texas economy.

I would distinguish this from my comments on the piece about the party’s relationship to the grass roots on the grounds that legislative politics is different. Unity on a speaker vote can be analyzed in isolation.

Where is the pre-exemptive outrage anyone?....We have no state-wide leader, so Chair or interim Chair is it...

have u planned to be on local political shows this Sunday or maybe write an editorial or two'. Get on Joe Rogan...oh yeah , who says u can't do RW podcasts and shove this issue right in their faces.

We have alot of students in Texas , many who just voted for the rapist. Why give them a day or 2 to settle into complacency.

"Trump transition advisers and outside allies have been discussing ways to quickly unwind the various Biden-era initiatives that offered new or easier paths to loan forgiveness for borrowers, according to two people familiar with the discussions.

Your wrote: "Many people, especially on the progressive side, agree that Democrats should not vote for any Republicans, no matter what. If that is the case, it may lead to a few days of chaos within the House,… "

It won't. If the Democrats announce as a group they will not vote for any Republican, they will instantly give permission to the GOP caucus to coalesce around one candidate, likely the bland David Cook. Whomever that Speaker is, they will also have a mandate for no Democratic chairs.

The only thing that's keeping the GOP caucus from electing its own Speaker is the possibility that the Democrats will unite and throw their support to a member of the GOP — in this case, Dade Phelan.

That's my fear. If they don't make a deal, eventually, the Republicans will come together and pass all that stuff anyway.

from Gonzales McAllen. He says it well...'Gonzalez said it was an error to focus so heavily on abortion in a region that is overwhelmingly Catholic. He said the strategy showed congressional Democrats “don’t know the region and they get lazy about it,”

The larger point: TexD's are out of touch.......who has confidence a new Chair will change anything when the same SDEC people make the choice on his replacement.

TDP has long worked for the TDP and the consultants that circle around it.

further from Gonzles: "And he said the Democrats were plagued with “incompetence” in gauging the driving issues for voters in districts like his."

how could we know since no 'leader' ever talked to a voter.

i read this on Raw Story and not a TPD press release......my paper FWST DID NOT report on Nevah Crain death.....so how would anyone in FTW know this horror and so it seems unlikely FWST will cover this story

So just how is the public to know? We want to get elected, I think, so we need to make it our mission to inform at least our OWN voters.

its political as all hell yet to Texas Dems its water off a ducks back......

"The Texas Maternal Mortality and Morbidity Review Committee revealed this week that it will not be reviewing any cases that occurred over the last two years — which just happen to be the years when Texas's strict anti-abortion law went into effect."

Wanna know why we are the party out of power?: Biden announces Wegovy to be covered by Medicare/Medicaid

NOW HE DOES THIS? again folks: NOW?

ps; when Trump cancels this initiative u won't hear TDP message on it......a driect hit to obese America........even as MSNBC is in jeopardy and local papers shrink or close TDP decides it has no responsibility to inform any Texan on any issue

where exactly would the uninformed voters learn about things that concern them......most pct. chair seats are empty, not alot, most, and HDC's , who manage Pct. Chairs don't have emails for them.......could u expect a volunteer Chair to go door-to-door to communicate with Dems in their pct? No, that is ridiculous. TDP wants more Pct. Chairs but offers no communications tools for a Chair to do the bare minimum communication to their DEM voters. I wouldn't do it, would you?

For all u guys who voted for Craig Goldman , to replace Kay Granger, to blindly support Trump:

"Billionaire Elon Musk, the man behind Tesla and SpaceX, said Tuesday, Nov. 26, on X that the U.S. should pull the plug on the Lockheed-Martin’s F-35, made in Fort Worth."

Now one could expect someone from TCDP, the Chair , or maybe an member of the EC or perhaps a Pct. Chair would post some barb on Craig Goldman's FB or X account about Musk F-25 musings.

you'd be mistaken
