Texas Republicans Are Imploding (Again)
While it makes for great entertainment, it won't stop them from pushing bad bills in the 88th Legislature.
The infighting with Texas Republicans never stops. It’s a wonder they continue to have electoral success in Texas when they all hate each other. Even worse, their base is convinced they’re all “RINOS,” but they keep voting for them anyway. The re-election of Dade Phelan has pissed enough of them off that they are in full attack mode against Phelan and anyone who supports him. It’s delicious to watch.
Texas House Democrats had their elections yesterday for leadership. Trey Martinez-Fisher (TMF) was elected as the new Chair of the House Democratic Caucus. It previously was Chris Turner, but Turner did not seek re-election this year. TMF is a good choice for the House, and he stood out in the last session during the quorum break. He’s a San Antonio native with progressive values who we can trust to always stand for what’s right.
Victoria Neave was elected Chair of the Mexican American Legislative Caucus. The Quorum Report reports that the three House members who came back from the quorum break early, Mary Gonzales, Joe Moody, and James Talarico, are facing hard feelings from the other Democrats in the House who did not return early. The best way that they’ll be able to overcome the shadow looming over their heads is to introduce great bills and fight the GOP bills harder than they’ve ever fought before.
There are 33 days left until the legislature convenes for what will likely be a difficult session for all of us. Stay tuned. Living Blue will be there with you every step of the way.

So, I had never been to your website before---I follow you on Twitter---but I just read the Comanche County Sundown article and holy shit. I will be diving more into your site, thank you for writing it.
I would like to see content that addresses Gilberto Hinojosa. He is party chair again ONLY because of back office deal with Carrol Robinson. His leadership is weak and demoralizing
