Sycophants To The Very End
Loyalty Over Country: The 15 Texas elected officials who continue to prioritize Trump over America.
In December 2020, after Joe Biden won the election, the far-right openly planned the January 6 insurrection online. It wasn’t done in secret. I even warned readers about it on Living Blue. Just as they promised, on January 6, 2021, thousands of rabid Trump supporters stormed the capitol to stop the peaceful transfer of power. Of course, Trump knew about it. He was intimately involved in each scheme that would have subverted the election and kept him in power.
To most of our shock and dismay, after the insurrection was put down and Congress returned to the joint session to finally certify the election, 147 Republicans still voted against certifying the election. Although afterward, they tried to compare their objections to times when Democrats had objected in the past, it was nothing like that. I wrote a long article in 2021 explaining the difference. However, it all boiled down to lies. Every reason they gave for objecting to the certification was based on widely debunked lies.
These 147 Republicans had no reason to stop the certification of the election other than they wanted to keep Trump in office. They broke their oaths to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America, and they did it all at the behest of the Mango Mussolini.
Of those 147 Republicans, 17 of them were from Texas. 16 Congresspeople and one Senator. All of them are still in office except for Louie Gohmert and Ron Wright.
Traitors to democracy.
These Republicans demonstrated a flagrant disregard for democracy and the rule of law. By voting against the certification of the election results, they perpetuated baseless claims of election fraud, despite numerous courts, state election officials, and even Trump’s own Department of Justice confirming the integrity of the election. Their actions fueled further division and undermined the very foundations of the democratic process, sowing doubt and mistrust in the electoral system.
Their allegiance to Donald Trump and their willingness to prioritize personal and political interests over the nation’s well-being and democratic institutions is treasonous. Rather than upholding their sworn duty to defend the Constitution, they caved to the demands of a defeated president who sought to cling to power despite the will of the American people.
Yet, because of the extreme racial gerrymandering in Texas and DC Democrats’ failure to expel these people from Congress, they still are in our government.
Donald Trump was FINALLY indicted for his role on January 6.
If you haven’t read it already, you can read the full indictment here. If you want to understand the indictment further, I suggest watching the January 6 Select Committee hearings, which break down in detail what Trump did and what he knew.
This is Trump’s third indictment. He’s facing a total of 78 felony charges so far. There is another indictment from Georgia, which we should expect to see in the coming weeks.
Yet, these Trump loyalists are still sticking with him. For many of us, it’s hard to understand why. However, it’s essential to realize that Trump continues to proclaim his innocence and tell Republican voters that it’s a “witch hunt.” Meanwhile, desperate to own the libs, Republicans in Congress continue to make up stories and lie about Hunter Biden and Joe Biden being involved in scrupulous activities. Although, they have still not provided any evidence to back up those claims other than a constant barrage of pictures of Hunter Biden’s penis.
The GOP wants their base to believe it’s us vs. them, we’re bad, they’re good, and nothing else matters except for that. The 118th Congress may wind up being the least productive in many decades.
And Texas’ treasonous 15 continue to use their places of power to lie, fabricate wild stories of corruption, and encourage their well-armed and often mentally-ill base toward violence.
And what do they have to say about Trump’s latest indictment?
They genuinely are Trump sycophants and will be until the end.
While some speculate that some of these elected officials, like Ted Cruz and Brian Babin, who were aware of Trump’s coup attempts, could still face federal charges, we shouldn’t hold our breath for that.
Senator Ted Cruz and Congresspeople Pat Fallon, Lance Gooden, August Pfluger, Ronny Jackson, Randy Weber, Pete Sessions, Jodey Arrington, Troy Nehls, Beth Van Duyne, Roger Williams, Michael Burgess, Michael Cloud, John Carter, and Brian Babin are all traitors to democracy. In Congress, they work diligently to spread lies and misinformation and take away your rights.
In 2024, we have the opportunity to vote all of them out. Remember what they did and remember how they chose Trump over America.
