Lone Star Left Endorses Trey Hunt For Texas’ 12th Congressional District
Trey Hunt throws his hat in the ring for TX12.
Trey Hunt will make his official announcement for Congressional District 12 tomorrow morning. If you followed me on Living Blue in Texas in 2022, you’ll know I endorsed Trey during his first attempt at TX12. I was excited to hear that Trey was giving it a second go around because he has the progressive platform we need in Congress.
As a lifelong Fort Worth resident, he’s already spent years working tirelessly for the community. Building on the momentum of his 2022 campaign, where he emerged as the closest Democratic candidate to unseat the incumbent, Trey is determined to secure the open seat and bring positive change to the district.
His commitment to public service has been evident throughout his career working with the homeless population in Tarrant County. Currently serving as the Homeless Housing Coordinator for the county’s mental health agency, Trey has demonstrated a passion for addressing the root causes of homelessness and advocating for the disenfranchised.
Trey’s platform and solutions are backed by data and real-world experience. Trey has shown the community and potential voters he cares and leads with empathy and humanity.
Trey’s platform is built on three key pillars: criminal justice reform, transitioning the military-industrial complex into the builders of renewable technology and public transportation, and creating affordable housing through innovative public-private partnerships.
His commitment to Criminal Justice Reform stands as a cornerstone of his progressive platform. By advocating for real rehabilitation and transitional support for the convicted, Trey aims to break the cycle of punitive incarceration and create economically viable members of society. This approach not only addresses the human impact on individuals but also recognizes the fiscal burden placed on taxpayers. Trey's vision addresses both the human and economic dimensions, making him a standout candidate for positive change.
Trey is driven by a passion for making the world a better place for everyone, not just those at the top. It is for that reason Lone Star Left is endorsing him for TX12.

YAY!!
this is fantastic news for tarrant county!
i also noticed that perla bojorquez filed to run against nate schatzline and despite knowing nothing about perla, i’d vote for an empty box of kleenex over nate any day!
it’s good to see a few more dems challenging republican held seats around the fort worth / tarrant county area, but there’s still plenty of unopposed seats that need decent democrats willing to run!
i will say this if no one else will........blacks in the 12'th aint gonna swing a push gate
