Lone Star Left Endorses Perla Bojorquez For HD93
Perla Bojorquez has what it takes to bring the change Texans want to HD93.
Tarrant County is ground zero for Christian Nationalism. The Republicans like to herald Tarrant County as the largest Republican County in America, but it’s only Republican due to gerrymandering and low voter turnout. In fact, Tarrant County is one of the most diverse counties in North Texas.
The current demographics of Tarrant County are:
43% Anglo
30% Hispanic
19% Black
6% Asian
This is important to remember, considering the majority of the Hispanic, Black, and Asian votes go to Democrats.
Tarrant County went blue for Biden in 2020 and will go blue again in 2024. Considering that the suburbs’ growing racial diversity outpaces the urban core, we are on track to see several Tarrant County districts flip this election.
Can Texas House District 93 be flipped?
I’ve had conversations with some consultants about Tarrant County, specifically HD93, and they’ve given me a little pushback on whether or not this District can be flipped this upcoming election. I think it can, and I will tell you why, but first, I want to address the naysayers.
In 2022, the incumbent, Nate Schatzline, received 59% of the vote, compared to the Democrat’s 40%. So, the naysayers look at this race as a 19-point swing.
However, turnout for this District in 2022 was only 42%, meaning 58% of the voters stayed home. Democratic turnout is always lower in midterm elections. And the 2022 Democratic turnout in Texas was abysmal.
Like much of Texas, the 2022 results for HD93 wound up looking like this:
In 2022, HD93 didn’t vote.
Another reason Nate Schatzline won by 19 points in 2022 (aside from the voter turnout) was that the Democrat running against him in that election was practically invisible. No hate, but KC Chowdhury wasn’t seen at events. He didn’t have a social media presence, and I’m not sure he even had a website.
The candidate running against Schatzline this year is the complete opposite.
Plus, Representative Nate Schatzline has a white supremacy problem.
HD93, specifically, barely has an Anglo majority (thanks to the Republicans’ redistricting efforts). This is important, considering how the Republican in this District has embraced white supremacist ideology.
Schatzline has taken money from the neo-Nazi-aligned Defend Texas Liberty PAC and refused to sign the anti-Nazi pledge in the Texas House. Perhaps Schatzline’s racial ideology would work better in rural Texas, where districts tend to be more white, but his alignment with racism will cost him votes in Tarrant County.
So, can HD93 be flipped? I believe it can, especially by ensuring the voters of color turn out in November.

Perla is in FTW so her goes.....went to the bank today...a vendor, behind the teller counter, an Indian-American, was wearing a brand new Trump hat....I asked ...rather loudly...What is Trump doing for you? Calamity ensued and they finally had to drag him out of the bank kicking and cursing.
What was the bank manager thinking when he allowed one of their machine repair vendors behind the teller window advertising for Trump.......the N'hood was solid Beto and Biden. Answer: He just assumed his customers were cool with it.
This is the brazenness to which they act because we let them go unchallenged....Who here would wear his Biden hat to Walmart? if there were Biden hats.
