A Railroad Commissioner Candidate, a Congressional Candidate, and a Candidate for the Texas Legislature isn't the beginning to a bad joke, but it is this week's episode of Left In Texas.
I actually went to college with Amanda Edwards and have nothing but a good impression of her interpersonally. But having followed her political career due to the connection, and being a lifelong progressive rather than a lifelong partisan, I have to say that I don’t think she has made a convincing argument that her vision of “new ideas” and “change” and “a new generation” has anything to do with *progressive* substance. She didn’t mention anything specific in that regard in this interview. And she specifically rejected Medicare for All, whereas her very old opponent has cosponsored it (https://www.congress.gov/bill/118th-congress/house-bill/3421/cosponsors?s=2&r=170&overview=closed#tabs). Younger does NOT mean *more progressive* without some evidence. And if there is reason to believe that she is in fact more business friendly (she talks a LOT about “innovation” and “small business” and “economic development”), then younger is actually worse! Especially in a safe seat that she would likely hold as long as she wants.
If I was in D12, despite my fondness of her as a person, I would vote for the incumbent.
Thanks for the insight. I think I did remember someone saying she wasn't for universal healthcare. I'm not endorsing anyone in that race. The leaked audio of the incumbent a few months back did piss me off, though. Regardless, we need candidates who will take us to universal healthcare.
Drove from doctor to home............hundreds of Goldman signs ....not a single D candidate sign...for any race
No one is available for comment, not the candidates nor the TCDP................i understand now why Soros/Beto bunch are giving Tarrant County a miss.
Fort Worth went from Beto/Biden to Goldman/Putin...................and meanwhile no one utters a peep....besides myself.
I do badger them at TCDP and the campaigns.....to no avail...........
Our fearless leader Michele got Alison to quit....sweet gal....but she was an mid-level Alcon employee....so creating waves wasn't her calling card......now TCDP seems have become completely introverted....so much so they can't understand the importance of HR 12 and how much fight should have gone in there................1 or 2 bad events tying Goldman to Johnson/Trump/ Putin and he would be extremely vulnerable
I don't know if I'd put much stock in that yet, being it's still primary season. But if it makes you feel better, I live in Arlington. Arlington is blue. I have also seen nothing but Republicans signs everywhere.
I take your point but Dist 12 candidates FB's aren't even current....If there is some other way for them to reach voters in the Dist., I haven't been clued in. I live in the bluest part of 12th, if the Beto vote is any indication.

I think I think like the regular voters.....pretty much.............so if i am not 'touched' by a candidate he can go piss up a rope..........I am at a loss. Of the 2 invisible HR 12 candidates, which should I vote for?(I have even gone to their wesbites and FB , and ain't nobody doing that). So right now its neither, if they won't reach out to me, I ain't gonna do them any favors..My vote matters a great deal to me. .Thus there is one less reason to vote in the primary.....1 less voter engaged in Nov.6
That gismoid Hunt, Trey on the Hunt, with the stupid haircut and a website full of wishful thoughts , knows me, knows my adress....has my email.....he delivered a yard sign to my yard in 2022..............he is too dumb or lazy to simply send an email . The easiest ask in the world is to ask someone who has already donated.
You know who has a sign up?.....2 little Thorton signs in a ocean of big honking R signs. I can see by his sign he is running for SR 97. I am going to go to the pols and vote for him and send him $100.00 ta boot....that is how a voter thinks.................
This is what TCDP has delieverd to us , a bunch of uncommitted, underfunded, inexperienced, undsicplined and lazy candidates..............
not to beat a dead horse to death but Gehrig , after a 21 day hiatus posted to his own FB.....he has secured the endorsement of the FWST....i paraphrase the endorsement.....'of the 2 losers bound to lose biggly, we like Sebastian the most'
