It’s day one of the Ken Paxton impeachment trial. Dan Patrick states the trial will likely last most of September and perhaps even into October. While I’d love to bring you a play-by-play of every moment, I’m taking 19 hours this semester and won’t be able to commit the entire month.
However, I will watch the entire thing (even if it’s not live) and give you the best clips on YouTube and TikTok. If you aren’t following me there, make sure you do.
If you want to watch the proceedings live, they will be broadcast on the Texas Senate website.
Each day, the Senate gives out so many press passes. Local and national press were camped out in front of the Capitol this morning to be first in line.
If you’re on X, formerly known as Twitter, there is a list of Paxton Impeachment Press you can follow, giving regular updates. (I realize many of us have jumped the X ship already.)
Various local news sites will be broadcasting live coverage. Here are a few:
All of the impeachment documents are and will be uploaded online under the Senate Secretary. There are over 100 witnesses, hence why this may take weeks.
This is a historic event; no one knows what will happen or what will come from this impeachment trial, but it’s sure to be one hell of a ride. Buckle in.
