My own suspicion is that Trump/Texas will not deport many immigrants; rather, they will detain most of them as prisoners after “convicting” them of some crime in some kangaroo court proceeding. In that way, Trump/Texas can legally offer up these prisoners as slave labor under the 13th Amendment. All the Texas businesses will rejoice at this “solution,” because they will still have access to their immigrant workforce while not having to pay their workers anything at all.

"Republicans and the Trump administration haven’t thought about this." = That pretty much sums up the entire scenario with the incoming administration. They are laser-focused on keeping the MAGAs and the billionaire donors happy. Of course, when their plans turn out to have not so convenient consequences, they will just lie and put out false statistics. The MAGA base will, of course, believe it and the mainstream media will report the MAGA Republican version of events because they are already controlled by the billionaires. I can't even imagine how much further damage they will do to school curriculums in Texas and across the nation. Democracy depends on an educated populace, and white Christian nationalism will pretty much snuff out everything that doesn't conform to their narrow, cruel mindset. Maybe we need to form underground movements...
