This is the first Substack post that made me feel better at all. Maybe because I feel like I *might* be able to do something in Texas with other like-minded Texans. I want to understand how to be better organized against this crap.

Thank you for sharing that—I'm so glad this post resonated with you. We're stronger together, and there are so many ways to get organized. I’ll be sharing more ideas soon on how we can unite and push for real change here in Texas. Stay tuned, and keep fighting the good fight!

Thanks for the MLK quote. I doubt that I will survive long enough to see us actually embrace justice as a nation, but I needed to hear that perspective today.

Just upgraded my prescription, Michelle. I plan to focus more on state and especially local races these next couple of years. I identify as an independent, after quitting voting R 10ish years ago. I frankly don’t want to identify as a 100% anything other than pro-democracy.

I look forward to learning from you and other readers.

Thank you. I'm in this fight for the long run.

Good. As a non-party person (most of my work is nonpartisan VR), I have been so unimpressed with the party organization. Everything seems to funnel through the precinct chair. If you don’t have one or have an inactive one, seems like is nothing. (E.g.,, I have never heard from mine though have offered more than once to block walk) Again, I look forward to learning more.

i made this criticism to no affect with my Party Chair....since having never been contacted by a pct. capt on 8 years and complained loudly......u would think someone might at least call

nope...........so i sympathize

My youngest granddaughter attends a very integrated elementary school. Do you know of any organizations in Texas or the US that is developing material, for Latinos and others, explaining their legal rights? I would like to know and join them in disseminating the information. Thanks

I do not. Maybe LULAC. I will certainly look into it. I know over the next few weeks activists and organizations will be regrouping and strategizing for when he takes office, I'll keep everyone updated about what I hear.

Angle 3 or 4 on what happened....my life's experience

The other angles i mentioned work together with this idea, which seems kinda impossible but may actually be the best explanation of all. Maybe misogyny is a motivator or bad campaigns explains or misunderstand Mexican machismo or alot or women find Trump sexy but something caused 75M to vote for a rapist....

But...........................

what if all these people were simply mesmerimzed by the negative messaging of SM and podcasts.........its all hate and lies all the time and if that's ur main source of news then how would we expect u to see Trump for what he is. Bombast and repetition sells mattress on Presidents Day. Dear Hearts, this maybe not news to u but its is revelation to me. Not the perniciousness of SM, but how widespread and universal is its hold on people.

I have spent alot of time in hospital waiting rooms and infusion clinics and blood draw clinics....i mean probably a 100 visits over the last years...1.2.3 hours at a wack in waiting room......Every singe old fart, young fart, middle aged lady fart was staring at their cell phone every available minute....they were looking at the thing even as they were looking for a place to sit and even in the act of sitting down........Even standing in front of the receptionist doing bizness their phones were right there. Mom's and daughter's would sit next to each other , each adsorbed by their own phones. Senior couples, even the old geezers, same same.

There must be some ungodly amount of interesting shit on SM to hold every last person on earth's rapt attention every f...ing minute. If its X is breaking news ever 2 sec, saturating every synapse with malarkey, well Katie bar the door.

from Sabrina Haake:

"We aren’t a hateful nation, we’re a nation that’s been lied to. By Fox, by Russia, by Elon Musk. We have the strongest economy in the world, we recovered post-Covid better than any other advanced economy, unemployment is low, and the Biden stock market hit more records than Trump’s, yet Fox, Musk and Russia convinced half the country that we’re in economic peril. According to AP VoteCast’s sweeping survey and other network exit polls, most voters were focused on a ‘crumbling’ economy, and they broke hard for Trump. "

i repeat this for emphasis: "and they broke hard for Trump."

Haake:"Elon Musk is a disinformation superspreader who weaponized Twitter/X to amplify blatant anti-Harris lies to his 200 million followers."

I heard about this but didn't think kids concerned about climate change or women concerned about their reproductive rights would fall for it: they did....or better they were mesmerized to vote against themselves. Its 'what's the matter with Kansas" on a grand scale.

I live in the world of cable and print news and haven't ever seen 1 headline from FB or X.........maybe us Harris folks haven't got a clue as to the forces around us shaping the thinking of uninformed citizens.

Maybe Eric Trump knows more about the world we live in than I do.

And maybe we ought to start lying like hell but in a sexy mesmerizing way.....

Having no clue how to get a meme started, but i think i heard this: Steven Miller planning to team up with Mexican Drug Cartels to identify illegal aliens and transport em back to Mexico?

Grieve..smeive..........we are not the democracy we think we are...with 45% Latinos voting R.....we will never be the post WW2 liberal democracy we grew up in. R's won the long game, reducing the whole thing to Hobbes' description of humanity,..nasty , brutish and now shorter. USA fini.

Trump may go nuts and give us 20% tarriffs and a national abortion ban and so we win the House or Senate in 2026......and appeal to who? People so uninformed or small minded or parochial that then and only then they see Trump for what he is..

I blame Hispanics who we defended from the horrors of child separation at the border or mass deportation or yanking dreamer's kids out of their lives or simply provided a job and a public education to Hispanics that came here from failed statesl....whether it was legally last year or 2 or 3 generations ago............Seems they don't believe the adage..."love thy brother"....or maybe for them it 'love ur borther but u sister is 2nd Class". Its there in Hispanic catholic culture , for sure.

Congrats...u have arrived.....and given the chance to move us all forward you chose Putin and Bannon and Miller and turned your back on the constitution.

PS: they just returned the US to the msygonist machosmo inequitable place they escaped from....USA is now Texas and Texas is now Mexico , except they have abortion and a female president....so Jaun and Jaunita congrats and thanks....

I blame white men too , strongly , but at least they might have thought they were losing their status....

Forget Canada, i am moving to Mexico. Its more progressive.

NC is purple

What i am reminded of, i don't think i have ever seen the Texas Chair on any show at anytime

given South Texas debacle and Soros money, and the fact that Allred won Tarrant......IOW candidates other than Trump, what is happening in Austin, or not>

explanation 5 , which doesn't preclude others......according to Matt Dowd of Wimberly, Shrub's guy,

argues that the Presidental vote will equal the approval rating of the Pres ur replacing, even if its yourself

so Joe Robinet @ 41% = KH @ 41%,,,,, and she actually over-performed. If you go back to all the presidential races this equation holds true.

Further he argues that inflation , or the effects of inflation would always hurt the president in power even it the rate is down........the damage was done and the current President is held responsible. Hence 41%.

He goes on to lawd Harris and the Harris campaign as swimming up hill and doing pretty well.

so whatever Joe Rogan and Elon did , it wasn't the thing.........my words.......

works for me ..i can go back to forgetting all about SM.

did u hear this from Allred?.....or Harris?.....no u did not.........for a guy who wants Tarriffs, needing approval by the Senate this seems germain ,,,,,and isn't hard to explain to voters.......Still Allred didn't,

its like #2 after deportation camps on Trump's agenda.........and we couldn't bother to splain to no one

"However, as reported by CNBC, Trump’s first-term trade war with China actually cost Americans over $190 billion, according to numbers from the conservative think tank American Action Forum, and also led to the loss of more than 245,500 U.S. Jobs, per the U.S.-China Business Council. "

An insight.......BTW did we outperform down south with Soros money?

"Having spent most of my adult life living and working in different parts of Latin America as well as married into a Mexican family while living for almost the last 25 years here in Mexico, it’s my observation that the Democratic party today simply doesn’t have a very good grasp on the values, politics or simply what interests most Hispanics today.

Especially working class Hispanic men who vote."

Colin hinted at it a few times but of course Colin being Colin , didn't want to make a thing of it: Texas is a state of misogyny........Men, young and old, white and brown voted for a rapist. Accept what a vote for Trump and Cruz and every Texas MAGA really means.......and it ain't laying ur coat down in a puddle of water.......its ugly and violent

meanwhile maternal mortality skyrockets and Nevaeh Crain gets no justice
